Standing In the Surf

Everything written
is eventually grayed out
by the clouds

What if everything we see
is really ancient furniture

One might become
claustrophobic
if they feel bound by skin

Don’t we carry
all the elements of the world
just secretly

Standing near the ocean
the tide washes over
again and again
